The ramen theory of identity, main ingredient plus the sauces you choose around it, is a genuinely lovely way to describe taste as self-portrait. And a French reader's seal of approval on the Bonjour Tristesse pick, loved ittt
Writing being the thing that gives all those thoughts somewhere to go - I get that completely. There's something about putting it into words that makes it feel less like noise and more like something you can actually look at. Glad you're here🩵🫂
i’m so happy you’re here too!! hearing your thoughts feels so lovely, and seeing that my writing reached you in some way really means so much to me. thank youu💕✨
It feels like you’ve built yourself a whole inner cosmos, where overthinking is not a flaw to be fixed but the raw material that turns into stories, films, paintings, songs, and the quiet worlds you keep discovering through them.
The way you trace yourself through Murakami and Kawakami, Jane Austen and classic films, Mediterranean light and Copenhagen winters makes it clear that you’re not just consuming art, you’re steadily, tenderly becoming the kind of artist whose own work will someday be the place other people go to recognize their own minds.
i genuinely didn’t expect such a thoughtful and detailed comment, thank you so much… your words felt incredibly meaningful to me and found a place somewhere very deep inside.
Thanks for inviting me inside your head. Ishiguro is one of my favourite authors and I am also someone who is constantly reading and exploring new worlds in my mind. Check out the buried giant next if you havent!
thank you sooo much for reading and for your lovely thoughts!!! and yesss, i definitely need to add it to my list, i’m so happy about your recommendationnn<3
you should definitely give Never Let Me Go another chance, i really recommend it!! even though it moves slowly, it carries so much underneath emotionally. i’ve read a few of Han Kang’s books too, but i hadn’t come across those ones before. thank you so much for the recommendations, i genuinely looove getting new book recs<33
I totally agree, I tend to write and read more as well, and sometimes I keep myself limited to just the genres/topics I’m familiar with/like more. Recently I’ve been having this sense to go beyond and broaden my search and my ways of finding myself, to look beyond the general interests.
Your piece has reaffirmed this notion, and I shall also try doing new things to acknowledge all sides of myself through art! 🌻
but this is so true, isn’t it? there are dozens of ways to discover ourselves, and i think that’s such a beautiful thing. and thank you, i genuinely love hearing your thoughts, you’re so generous 💕✨
